Vimeo user Max Wilson says he spent a night at the Hyatt Regency hotel near O’Hare airport, and what transpired was another addition to the videographer’s growing list of stunning work in the Chicago area.

Using a Canon camera, Wilson took full advantage of his view, filming planes landing and taking off throughout the night. The roughly 90-second video shows vivid, colorful images of the city as planes — appearing as simple light beams across the sky — go to and from one of the country’s busiest airports.

This isn’t the first go-around for Wilson filming some of Chicago’s nightlife and famous places. Wilson has produced several videos, ranging from time lapses of the Drake Hotel to McMormick place. His work can be seen at chicagotimelapse.org.
