A new partnership between Oreo-maker Mondelez International and J&J Snack Foods Corp. will bring Oreo churros to convenience stores, fast-food restaurants, and sports venues nationwide.
The Sun-Times reports that the new snack was introduced earlier this month at the National Association of Convenience Stores in Las Vegas.
“As the leading churro manufacturer, we are excited about our new relationship with the world famous Oreo cookie brand,” Jerry Law, J&J Snack Foods senior vice president, said in a statement. “Oreo cookie and churro fans alike will not be disappointed in the latest snacking mash up.”
According to J&J Snack Foods Corp., the Oreo churros will have “a crispy exterior, warm soft interior and Oreo cookie pieces in every bite.” It will also be available in three forms: traditional churro sticks, double-twisted churros and bite-size churros. The companies say the churros could be served with Oreo cookie creme dip, rolled in sugar or topped with ice cream.
