For Veterans Day, here is a round up of apps that are useful for active duty armed services and veterans alike:

iDeploy
Free for iOS
Count down the days, hours and minutes until your loved ones come home from deployment. Customize it with a photo and a one-click FaceTime option.

Sesame Street for Military Families
Free for iOS and Android

The Sesame Street for Military Families app is a great resource for military families with young children. The app features engaging videos, articles, storybooks, parent guides and more. Due to some of the sensitive topics in the app, it's recommended that a parent or guardian review the materials before co-viewing with a child. And all the resources are available in English and Spanish.

PTSD Coach
Free for iOS and Android

Created by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, this app is veterans and active military service members who have, or may have, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This app provides users with education about PTSD, information about professional care, a self-assessment for PTSD, opportunities to find support, and tools that can help users manage the stresses of daily life with PTSD. This app can be used by people who are in treatment as well as those who are not.

Helping Our Heroes
Free for iOS and Android

The Hiring Our Heroes mobile application provides veterans and their spouses links to the online resources provided by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Hiring Our Heroes web site and it's partner sites. Developed in partnership with Verizon, the mobile application is a companion tool for veterans and their spouses while on the go and organizes the resources found on the web into the phases of a typical job search: Build Your Brand, Search for Jobs, Interview & Follow Up and Mentorship Programs.
