The University of Chicago is on alert after four armed robberies in the past week.

The incidents happened between 53rd and 55th streets, running from Blackstone to the east, and Greenwood to the west.

Victims are being robbed of their cell phones, laptops, backpacks, and wallets.

Local residents and students say it's a problem that seems to be growing.

Police are warning the area to look out for a light-complected black male, between 18 and 21, with a tattoo on his neck.

Also -- a black female about five-six, 110 pounds with auburn hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Chicago Police.
