The Will County prosecutor is asking a judge to reject the appeal of convicted wife-killer Drew Peterson.

The former Bolingbrook police officer is seeking to overturn his conviction for murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio. But, the state’s attorney’s office is standing by its case.

Peterson’s lawyers say the case was built on third-party testimony, in which Peterson’s fourth wife Stacy said he told her he killed Savio.

Prosecutors say hearsay evidence is acceptable if it’s credible.
