14-year-old charged with arson in Prospect Heights house fire

Police say a teenage boy has been charged with deliberately setting a fire to a home in the northwest suburbs.

The 14-year-old has been charged as a juvenile with three counts of aggravated arson.

Prospect Heights firefighters arrived at the home in the 1200 block of Stratford Ln just after 3 a.m. Monday.

They found a mother, father, and three children outside.

One firefighter and a woman were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation- but have been treated and released.

Initially the teen could not be located but later in the day he was found in the 500 block of West Euclid in Arlington Heights.
