In the final hours of a long and very expensive campaign, the candidates for governor spent their Sunday in church – several churches.

The effort was clearly an appeal to the African American community and while polls show strong support for Governor Quinn, Bruce Rauner is by no means conceding that vote.

While Rauner made some stops not listed on his public schedule such as Salem Baptist and New Beginnings, Gov Quinn’s stops were not strictly at African American churches

Quinn frequently quoted scriptures during his speeches, while Rauner spoke less gospel and more political.

After all the church services, the candidates will crisscross the state and hold final rallies before Tuesday’s election day.
