The nearly month-long teachers strike in north suburban Waukegan has come to an end.

Teachers waited in a long line to vote today on a new three- year contract.  They approved the tentative agreement  with 86% of the vote to approve.

Nearly 1,200 members in the Waukegan Teachers' Council voted.

Last night, Gov Quinn sent state board of education chairman Gery Chico to act as an arbitrator.

Once the students are back in class, they will have to make up the weeks missed due to the strike.
