Cardinals outfielder Oscar Taveras dies in car crash

One of the St. Louis Cardinals was killed in a car crash.

Oscar Taveras and his girlfriend were both killed in a car accident on a highway in the Dominican Republic.

Details are not out yet, but there were reports of heavy rain in the area.

Taveras was one of the Cardinals’ top prospects.

He made his major league debut this year and played 80-games.

One of his last hits was a pinch hit, game tying home run, in game two of the NLDS.

Taveras was 22-years-old.
