FDIC takes over Nation Republic Bank of Chicago

The FDIC took over the National Republic Bank of Chicago.

The bank operated two branches one on the near West Side and one on the far North Side.

State Bank of Texas, which is based in Dallas, has agreed to buy most of the failed bank's assets and will assume all of National Republic Bank's deposits.

National Republic is the 16th bank to fail this year.
