A man in Wales stole more than $64,000 from the bank account of an elderly neighbor with Alzheimer’s disease.

Alan Knight, 47, then pretended to be a comatose quadriplegic for two years. He also checked himself into a hospital to avoid court appearances.

But then, a photo showed up.

It captured Knight in his local grocery store, looking quite healthy for a man in a coma, and quite mobile for a quadriplegic.

fakecomaKnight showed up in court in a wheelchair and a neck brace, but once he saw the picture, he knew he was busted.

He pled guilty on all counts, and he’ll be sentenced next month.
