A middle school in north suburban Skokie will be closed again Thursday due to anonymous threats delivered over social media.
Administrators with Skokie School District 73 1/2 sent a letter to parents telling them they're working with Skokie police to investigate a series of Instagram posts that have been shared with some sixth grade students at Oliver McCracken Middle School.
Village officials said in a statement that administrators told police Monday of "inappropriate and threatening communication received by students via social media."
In a statement released Wednesday night, the district said, "While we are not aware of any new posts that are threatening or inappropriate in nature, the current status of the investigation is such that we are canceling classes.
Authorities did not give any more details about the threats.
Officials says the situation was isolated to McCracken and did not affect any other schools in the village.
