Man, 18, suspected of starting Logan Square fire that displaced 17

Charges are pending against an 18-year-old man suspected of setting a fire in the Logan Square neighborhood that drove 17 people from their home.

The suspected arson fire began around 3 a.m. Wednesday in a vacant building in the 3500 block of West Palmer Street.

It spread to another two-story home, forcing seven adults and 10 children to evacuate.

A woman from the second home, and a firefighter, were both taken to hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
