Apple Pay, the new one touch pay system, launches today.

It  allows i-Phone 6 users to make purchases at some retailers and through apps. The system uses the phone’s fingerprint reader to link customers to their credit card accounts.

But many retailers are not part of apple’s network, including the world’s largest retailer, Walmart. It’s working on its own system with other big merchants. Those retailers using the system include McDonald’s, Macy’s, Panera Bread, Subway, Walgreens and Whole Foods. Be aware, though, some of the stores will not have the equipment set up right away.

The new way to pay does not work with older i-Phones or non-apple devices. It will work for in-app purchases on the new iPads.
