Tentative agreement reached in Waukegan school strike
Striking teachers in Waukegan schools have reportedly reached a tentative agreement to end the strike, officials said. Both sides will meet Sunday to vote on the agreement. The following statement was issued by the Board of Education and the Waukegan Teachers’ Council:
“Representatives from the Board of Education and the Waukegan Teachers’ Council worked diligently in an all-day meeting today, October 10th. Over the course of negotiations the sides were able to reach tentative agreements on several significant issues.
The teams will reconvene on Sunday for another session with a federal mediator. The two sides are hopeful to reach a full resolution during Sunday’s session.”
