Chicago Marathon: Everything you need to know about road closures and public transit

It's one of the biggest annual events in Chicago and draws athletes and media from around the world.

It's time for the Chicago Marathon, and preparations are underway for the big race that will kick off on Sunday.

Streets in Grant Park are already closed for marathon setup, and there will be more street closures along the race route starting at 7 a.m. Sunday. Starting at 1 a.m. Sunday, your car will be ticketed and towed if you're parked along the route.

CTA is rerouting 34 bus routes due to the street closures, and adding more and longer trains to accomodate more people in the city. Metra is also beefing up its service

About 45,000 runners are expected to participate in the race.
