WGN-TV anchors Robert Jordan and Jackie Bange have been doing their commercial break handshake for years, so when a 2009 YouTube clip of their handshake went viral — again — they decided they needed to record the latest version.
Jordan and Bange, who have anchored together for 20 years, say the handshake started in the early 2000s.
The handshake includes some moves for fun and others that signify certain news events, like the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge move, which was added to the handshake when the challenge took social media by storm.
And since the handshake started, it has grown. So much so that it now takes TWO commercial breaks to complete. In the clip above, we edited them both together so you can see the whole handshake in it’s entirety. It’s four minutes long, so we also created a “warp speed” version that’s even more hilarious. You can view it below.
Bob and Jackie — never, ever change.
