Some residents in Oklahoma City are angry after they claimed they’ve been duped by a 78-year-old woman who begs for money every day.

A man confronted the woman after he says he saw her get into a brand new car.

A woman who was standing nearby also gave money to the woman. She recorded the exchanged and things escalated quickly.

KFOR-TV reports that Daniel Ayala said he approached the elderly woman and said, “You ask for money in the middle of the street and you drive a 2013 car.”

The video has since gone viral. The panhandler’s family reached out on Facebook and said their grandmother does have a permit.

    Nothing new here.
I’m really tired of the habitual homeless, who make a living panhandling so they can drink & buy drugs.
And before I get berated for my views – I’ve been homeless in Chicago, I know. I know the places these people can get free meals from, and so do they, yet they ask for money for “food” 2 blocks away from the places giving it away!
I watched one guy from the Western stop on the Blue Line – I watched from the platform as he pulled a wad of bills from his pocket & put them in his wallet, then proceed to start begging again when the next train came in.

I’m not sure which is worse, the fact that she’s doing it or that somewhere they give our permits for it! It takes weeks and a hefty sum of money just to get a permit to build a shed or put up a fence so it begs the questions…what in the world must the list of criteria be on a Panhandling permit!? Obviously the woman’s family has enough money for a computer since they communicated through Facebook yet they don’t see a problem with their Mother/Grandmother being a professional begger!? Clearly, ignorance breeds ignorance.

I should have mentioned that I drove taxi in the Chicagoland area and whilst these customers NEVER tipped for great service, they would want to give these beggars $50 to $100 to help support them. Like the signs at the park say, “Don’t feed the animals!” Make it a great day everyone.

Steven Blaser you wouldn’t happen to have shopped at a jewel osco in Schaumburg would you? Because my mom would tell me about a guy who would say make it a great day to her whenever he shopped there and spoke to her..

Nuh uh A Money. I’d never been to Schaumburg before. Boy I miss Jewel-Osco though for all my shopping. Ironically enough, my mother used to work at Jewel after her day job on Grand & Green Bay in Waukegan when she was alive. Wouldn’t it have been a small world had I spoken with your mother!? Do me a favor and give her a huge hug letting your mom know just how much you love her. Since her passing on 11-28-11, I wish that I could hug my momma and tell her how much I love her.
