A security guard at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center faces felony charges Friday.

Prosecutors say 27-year-old Michael Lynch body-slammed a boy when he refused an order to go back to his room.

That knocked the 15-year-old boy unconscious, and he was treated for a concussion.

Lynch's attorney says his client was breaking up a fight.

It was captured on surveillance video and witnessed by about ten other detainees.

Lynch was charged with aggravated battery and official misconduct. A judge set his bail at $25,000.

I say that the proper method of intervention was used, however, the minor was resilient and ended up falling and causing guard to fall on him. 210 pounds (in another article) is a lot to call on a minor. The kid is clearly in there for a reason, the kid was about to get into a fight (I do not buy the hug and laughing thing) and he was refusing to go to bedroom. You know that kid was putting up a fight and probably pushed and pulled via the intervention. It sucks that people have to go through this BS when they are there to serve the kids. Juveniles is by far the hardest population to work with because they lie without thinking of consequences and act a damn fool knowing when you mess up they milk it as much as possible. Not to mention these DCFS workers are either extremely old or fresh out of college, they have no idea whats going on in the real world and will always side with the kid no matter how crazy the story is.

Dunlap covers up and changes things to make him look good and lies all the time. One of his top appointed people once broke a kids arm while breaking up a fight, never made the news. He get rid of who he wants and manipulates data to make himself look good, he pushes private contracts with private security companies and lines his own pockets. He doesn’t care about those kids and is only interested in lining his own pockets that’s why he keeps stalling about leaving office. He should be brought up on charges and investigated. Its a shame he has had so long to steal from the county besides all the harm he has caused to residents, the employees, and the county.
