Record-breaking cold possible in Chicago; chance for snow near Rockford

Overnight storms brought rain, cooler temperatures and now the possibility of snow.

But, there's only a slight chance mostly around the Rockford area.

The burst of cold air from Canada will bring unseasonably cool weather to the Chicago area for the next several days with temperatures dropping as low as the 30's overnight.

The predicted high temperature for Saturday is 46 degrees, and if we hit that, it will be the coldest Oct. 4 on record.
