12 sick CPS students taken to hospital

Twelve students were taken to the hospital Friday after complaining of stomach aches and vomiting.

It happened at Marquette School of Excellence at about noon.

Bill McCaffrey with Chicago Public Schools issued the following statement:

“Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Department of Public Health are investigating an incident of students becoming ill at Marquette School of Excellence today. School leadership acted swiftly and appropriately to notify the proper officials and parents. Student health and wellness are among our top priorities, and we will continue to work with the school to protect student health and safety.”
