What leads to a heart attack and how do you prevent one?

It`s the leading cause of death for both men and women in America – yet many of the symptoms of heart disease go undetected until it`s too late.

Today, University of Chicago Medicine launched Dare To Care, a program that offers free screenings to anyone over the age of 60.

Those 50 and older who have certain risk factors and patients with diabetes who are over 40 also qualify for the free service.

The hospital hopes to screen 500 participants during the first year of the program.
