Chicago man who escaped Vandalia prison captured

The man from Rogers Park who escaped from a prison has been caught.

Marcus Battice escaped from downstate Vandalia correctional center Tuesday afternoon.

That prison is about 245 miles south of Chicago.

He was in prison for possessing a stolen vehicle, and he was eligible for parole in January.

He was caught at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday about 3 and half miles from the prison.
