Chicago police officers arrested nearly a dozen protestors overnight after they chained themselves to a statue outside the mayor's office in City Hall.

Eleven protestors were arrested just after midnight and charged with trespassing on city property.

They are fighting the closure of Dyett High School in Bronzeville.

Dozens of Dyett students and community activists gathered on the fifth floor of City Hall Tuesday afternoon asking to speak with CPS and city officials.

A spokeswoman for Mayor Emanuel says city officials did speak with the group several times and agreed to most of their demands, but the protestors refused to leave until they were arrested.
