Plans for power plant in Oakwood Hills withdrawn

A controversial plan for a power plant in a Chicago suburb has been withdrawn.

The power plant developers, Enventure Partners LLC and Northland Power Inc.withdrew plans for the plant planned for Oakwood Hills.

The town has been divided over the proposal.

Three members of the Oakwood Hills village board resigned over the proposed $450 million natural gas power plant.

Opponents of the idea, site environmental concerns, health risks, and quality of life as reasons to walk away from the proposal . Signs dot the yards of so many who would be affected by the plant.

    The reason this was withdrawn was not that the village and it neighbors were divided . It was just the opposite .People were united in working to stop this project from doing harm to their commmunity.
