Derrick Rose gives $1M to Chicago charity
Bulls star Derrick Rose has donated $1 million to Chicago’s After School Matters program.
The group was founded by former Chicago First Lady Maggie Daley and helps provide art programs and out-of-school work training programs for more than 15,000 Chicago teens.
They have a program at Simeon Career Academy, which is Rose’s alma mater.
Organizers say Rose and his family wanted to make a big statement and build a relationship with the community.
