To minimize the lost due to one’s debit card being hacked, simply open a separate bank account for debit card use only, keeping a minimal balance in the account. One can replenish the account by transferring funds from the primary checking account to the debit card account. Should the debit card be compromised, the thieves can only get into the small amount in the debit card account and not the larger amount in one’s primary checking account.
