The number one moving destination in the country — is right here in Chicago.

That’s according to a study by united van lines, the nations largest mover.

Chicago saw nearly 47 percent more inbound moves than outbound moves between May through August, usually the busiest moving season.

We are number six on the list with the most outbound moves.

The study found other Midwest cities like St. Louis and Minneapolis also saw an influx in movers, especially from millennials.

Not only did considerably more people move to the Chicago area than away, but Chicago was the most popular locale for moves in the nation.

Washington, Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix and New York followed behind.
