Police warn of armed robberies near U of C campus

Police are warning residents and students in the area of University of Chicago campus about a string of armed robberies.

According to police, three armed robberies occurred yesterday evening. The first occurred in the 900 block of East 54th around 5 p.m. The second, in the 5400 block of South Ellis Ave around 6 p.m. and the third in the 5400 block of South University Ave around 6:30 p.m.

The suspects are described as black males, age 17-23 years of age, 5’7-6’1, 150-170lbs. Also a black female age 17-20, 5’7 and 150 lbs with short hair.
