New campaign announced to raise money for inner city youth baseball

The Jackie Robinson West run at the Little League World Series has put new focus on inner city youth baseball.

Mayor Emanuel and parks superintendent Michael Kelly called “announced a new crowdfunding campaign called Play Ball Chicago.

The goal is to raise $125,000 dollars to help increase participation in inner city youth baseball and softball in Chicago’s parks.

There are more than 50,000 kids playing the game annually at more than 80 Chicago parks.
