The boyfriend of a woman killed by a piece of stone that fell from a South Loop church is suing.

Lance Johnson filed suit today against Second Presbyterian Church of Chicago over last Thursday’s accident.

He was walking with Sarah Bean when she was hit by stone debris that broke off a gargoyle.

The suit accuses the church of negligence, citing a string of building violations.

The suit asks for unspecified damages.

Bean is survived by two children, and Johnson is the father of one of them.
