According to KUSA in Denver, Christina Jahnz was driving away from her daughter’s school last week and said she did a “voice text.”

She told KUSA, “I looked down to make sure it was all right. The next thing I knew, I was looking up, there was white powder from the air bags deployed.”

Jahnz struck a guardrail pole which went through her car and punctured her in the buttocks and thigh.

Firefighters had to saw parts of the pole in order to free Jahnz from the car.

Jahnz was taken to the hospital where she had surgery and was released days later.

She is expected to make a full recovery.
