A Lake County teacher is apparently on the run and has fled the country after being accused of sexually assaulting a former student.
Michael Vucic has taught at Gavin Middle School in Ingleside for the last 18 years.
The Lake County Sheriff's office says a former student came forward Monday, telling her grandparents that Vucic sexually assaulted her multiple times in 2012, when she was under the age of 13.
Vucic is charged with several counts of sexual assault.
An arrest warrant has been issued and a $1 million bond set because Vucic reportedly fled his Lake Forest apartment on Tuesday.

A detective with the Lake County Sheriff's office says the U. S. Custom's office says Vucic took a flight to Germany on Tuesday.

Officials with Gavin School District 37 sent a letter home to parents confirming the investigation, saying they have been cooperating with police since Tuesday, when they were informed of the accusations.
They say Vucic has not been at school since then and he is now banned from the school property.
Police are now asking for any other possible victims to contact investigators.
