First case of West Nile in Cook County reported

The first human case of West Nile virus has been reported in Cook County.

A woman from suburban Oak Lawn, in her 40s, became ill earlier this month.

Health officials say she was not hospitalized and is recovering at home.

To date, the county reports mosquito pools in 61 suburban communities tested positive for West Nile.
