One of the two suspects taken into custody following the 21 hour hostage taking in suburban Harvey is a parolee who served a sentence for a murder dating back to 1990.

The still unidentified man was in prison for 23 and a half years for that crime.

He was on electronic monitoring when he and another man took eight people in the home hostage.

The suspect was allowed to leave home to look for a job.

It all came to an end yesterday when police stormed the house.

None of the hostages were injured.
