Cubs Game Notes For Wednesday vs. San Francisco

* Last night marked the sixth time since 1990 that the Cubs have played in a game that did not even go six innings. No other team has played in more than three in that span.

* Jake Peavy has struck out his share of Cubs batters over the last dozen years averaging 9.13 K’s per nine innings against Chicago.

* Throughout his career, Edwin Jackson has really struggled against NL West competition with a 6.12 ERA.

* Over the last couple weeks, Cubs starting pitchers have not allowed their opponents to get many leads early on, allowing only two first inning runs since August 4.
