Flood advisory issued for Chicago area

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for northwestern Lake County in northwest Indiana and southeastern Cook County in northeast Illinois. The advisory will remain in effect until 4:30 p.m. CDT.

At 12:24 p.m., NWS Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the advisory area. Doppler radar estimated one to two inches of rainfall has fallen over the last hour. Up to an inch of additional rainfall is possible.
