Chicago woman state’s first case of West Nile

A Chicago woman is the state’s first recorded case of West Nile Virus.

The Chicago Dept of Public Health announced today the woman is in her 70s and from the West Ridge neighborhood. She is recovering at home.

In response, the CDPH will be spraying for mosquitoes Wednesday and Thursday this week on the city’s Northwest and Far Northwest sides.
