The University of Notre Dame is investigating four members of its football team for academic dishonesty.

The student-athletes are receiver DaVaris Daniels, cornerback KeiVarae Russell, defensive lineman Ishaq Williams and linebacker Kendall Moore, said Notre Dame vice president and athletic director Jack Swarbrick.

The four are suspected of having submitted homework and papers they did not write, according to a statement by Notre Dame. Until the investigation is complete, they will not practice or compete, but they will remain enrolled at the university and be members of the team. Any wrongdoing by others involved who are not athletes will also be addressed appropriately.

“Integrity is at the heart of our mission and academic misconduct will not be tolerated at Notre Dame,” Notre Dame president Rev. John I. Jenkins said.

The university notified the NCAA of the investigation. If the players are found to have violated academic integrity during past competition, Notre Dame will forfeit any victories in which they participated.
