At the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA, Chicago's Jackie Robinson West showed they are a force to be reckoned with.

The Little League team won their first game of the tournament 12-2.

For fans who couldn't get to Pennsylvania for the game, a jumbo-tron was set up at Jackie Robinson Park in Morgan Park.

The City and the Chicago White Sox set up the event, providing the screen, hot dogs and drinks.

Jackie Robinson West returns to the field on Sunday to take on the Las Vegas All Stars.

  • 2 sets of rules

Teams using Little Leagues’ “urban initiative program” have an unfair advantage over every other legit little league program. JRW is able to take the best kids they can find from anywhere they choose, assemble a “local” all star team , get a bye right to sectionals without playing any district level playoff games. All other teams take the best players from their local leagues (usually living within said boundaries) and compete fairly. JRW and team Philadelphia are travel teams that get a pass to play against legit neighborhood teams and easily beat them because rules don’t apply to them. This is the downfall of Little League.

JRW is a program that has been winning long before the urban initiative was implemented. Why not just give them the credit they deserve and enjoy the ride. :)

Why can’t you just be happy for these kids who are doing something positive. It’s alway nay sayers like who have to be so nit picky.
