A girl survived being attacked by an otter and has a pretty good sense of humor about it.

12-year old Rory Kliewer lives in Minneapolis but went swimming last weekend with friends in a lake in Wisconsin.

She was climbing onto a dock when something started biting her.

Rory said the otter was hissing, while biting and clawing her from head to toe.  “I was kind of amazed that in less than a minute it could do all of this, which was pretty scary.”

She was wearing goggles which protected her eyes.

Rory doesn’t think she’ll be swimming in a lake anytime soon, but she’s definitely on the mend.  “I was saying it autographed me and then my friend’s mom was like, ‘oh, it otter-graphed you.’  So we call it an otter-graph.”
