He's never even been in a commercial plane before and today a very lucky Chicago Public School student jumped onboard with legendary pilot Sean D Tucker for a ride that very well could change his future forever.

17-year-old South Shore resident Malik Baker is a senior at the Chicago Military Academy and a police and firefighting training academy standout. Baker was chosen to go up with aviation legend Tucker and fly alongside two Blue Angles as part of the Young Eagles Aviation program.

The trio captured beautiful views of Navy Pier and downtown Chicago and practiced a few maneuvers.

Malik now joins the 1.8 million young people who've been brought into the Young Eagles in the last 12 years.

As a member Malik will now also have access to scholarships, flight training if he's up for it and entry to science and tech museums.
