Police seek suspect in armed bank robbery

Authorities are searching for a gunman after a bank teller in Bolingbrook was shot during a robbery today.

Police say the First Midwest Bank teller, a female in her 20s, was shot in the arm and is expected to be ok.

Police say it wasn’t an alarm that alerted them to the robbery, but someone driving by who saw the suspect leaving the bank wearing a mask

A bank vice president says there were about 10-14 people in bank at the time of the robbery and half of those were employees

“I can’t speak to what was taken here but we know the most important thing is the customers and employees are safe and the injured employees is in good condition,” said Jim Roolf, senior vice president. “That’s all we really care about at this point.”

The suspect is described as a male black 6 foot tall, 190 lbs. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, a red baseball hat and a black bandanna with white markings.

The investigation is on going.
