Police charged Paul Sasso, 44, with a DUI, having an open alcohol container, lane violations and attempting to evade officers.

The pursuit started in Highland Park on Thursday night and then continued into Lake Bluff.

The vehicle drove through an open gate at the military base. Police fired four rounds to disable the car and set up a blockade. The driver plowed into the blockade and suffered a head injury.
