A scarf updo is a great way to wear second day hair after curls or big waves.

For more control while styling a braided look, mist a beach spray or dry shampoo on each section to give hair more texture.

A hot summer trend is soft curls with a straighter end. By curling the midshaft of your hair and not touching your ends, you will be able to achieve this look. This is the perfect base for the braided crown.

Spray your bobby pins with hair spray before using. This is a great trick to keep them in place so they will not slip and fall out.

You can also try braided styles on wet hair. When you take out the elastics and pins, you will be left with beachy waves created with zero heat. This will save wear and tear on your hair, especially in the summer months when you are exposed to factors like the sun and chlorine.
