Program unites diverse group of teens to discuss issues in Mid East

Teenagers from very different backgrounds; Americans, Israelis and Palestinians have been brought together for an 18 day program to learn from one another.

For 12 years Hands of Peace has been bringing kids and facilitators in from the Middle East to discuss the issues that ignite conflict and what actions could stamp it out.

For two and a half weeks Middle Eastern guests live with host families in the northwest suburbs and learn.

This summer’s program has been much more intense for everyone involved as the deadly violence continues near the Gaza Strip.

19 American teens join the 24 Middle Eastern high schoolers and discuss everything from culture and religion to the very volatile conflict in the Middle East.
