Police have just charged a 28-year-old man for a murder in Rogers Park over the weekend.

Eric Vaughn is being held on first degree murder charges.

Wil Lewis, 28, was shot in the 1300 block of West Devon Avenue.  He was standing near a bus stop when he was shot in the back.

Ald. Joe Moore, 49th Ward, was in the area at the time of the shooting and was a witness to the crime.

“Having never been witnessing a gun being fired during the commission of a crime, I’ll tell you one thing, I didn’t notice too much more than just the gun itself,” Moore told WGN. “But I did notice it was being fired who appeared very young. Probably younger than my 17-year-old son.”

Family members of the victim say they believe it was a case of mistaken identity.

Cowardly punk, shooting someone in the back…no wonder it could have been a case of mistaken identity…cowards are big men when they back shoot someone, or with a group that outnumbers other people. IF convicted, keep this person locked up for life…no parole!!
