A man in Rockford accused of killing two people and triggering a nationwide manhunt could be responsible for another murder.

Terrence Doddy was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase into Wisconsin. Police say he murdered one of his friends and then a woman at a rest stop.

Now Wisconsin police are reopening the investigation into the 1993 drowning of Stephanie Johnston. Doddy happens to be her ex-boyfriend.

“Based on that association, the circumstances that she was found in the river and the fact that this information has surfaced now at this point, we felt it appropriate to resurrect this,” said Deputy Chief Dominic Iasparro of the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department.

Doddy has not officially been named a suspect in Johnston's death.
