Residents concerned for possibility of another violent weekend

Some residents on Chicago's South and West sides are concerned this could be another violent weekend in the city.

Police spokesperson Marty Maloney said The Taste of Chicago in Grant Park will not diminish the number of officers deployed to neighborhoods.

    Keep your children and teenagers indoors this weekend. Find games to play together. Watch movies together. Keep them all safe and away from parks, street corners, other kids, bad influences. Just because your child isn’t involved in a gang doesn’t mean the person standing next to him or her isn’t, or just might look like someone else. Hug them tight and tell them you love them.
