A 22-year-old New York woman has been charged with second degree murder in the death of her 11-month-old son.

Detectives say Nicole ‘Nikky’ Kelly said she killed her baby boy because she had “reached her breaking point.”

The child, Kiam Felix, Jr., was pronounced dead at an area hospital Sunday afternoon after Kelly brought him into the emergency room with the boy’s father, who does not live with them.

Instead, Kelly lives with a roommate who has a 2-year-old boy. The roommate tells our sister station PIX11 News that she saw Kelly with the body of her lifeless baby, just before he was taken to the hospital.

At the time he was wearing a completely white outfit, identical to the wallpaper photos on Kelly’s Facebook page.

Below that photo banner, Kelly had posted, in part, after her son’s death: “Missing my baby boy so much wish there was some way I could bring him back to life I feel horrible knowing he passed away. Am [sic] his Mother. I was supposed to protect him.”

It’s likely then that the photo was taken after his death.

Authorities say that Kelly, formerly a home health aide, wrapped her baby so tightly in a bed sheet that he couldn’t breathe or move.

After Kelly was taken into custody, the Queens District Attorney’s Office says she told investigators: “I reached my breaking point. I didn’t want him anymore. ”

PIX11 reports that Kelly is undergoing a mental evaluation at an area hospital.

If she is found guilty, she faces a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

Great, than you drop that baby off at the nearest firestation so a loving family will someday be able to adopt your baby. Maybe someday you even get your crap together and have a nice reunion too.

As the father of a 1 year old, this story pissed me off enough to want to comment. There’s nothing a 11 month old can do to you unless you’re already a shitty parent. Hope this bitch ends up getting choked to death in prison. There were soooo many options. Killing him wasn’t one of them.

I agree with you, there are many other options she could have chose.I hope she rots in prison. But who knows maybe she will be found innocent like Casey Anthony was…

All these parents crying mental health issues makes me sick..Unless she had a history of mental illness shes just another bad parent who don’t want to take responsibility for their actions..If I can’t blame someone else, it must be because I’m nuts…Thats hogwash

Idk, clearly she wasn’t in her right mind. That’s not normal behavior, and I don’t think this woman should be condemned to death for it. Of course she should face time but this doesn’t sound like so much of a violent planned hateful crime so I’m not sure why people want to respond with such hate…

Are you seriously that stupid? It wasn’t a violent crime? how would you like to be wrapped so tight that you had to struggle for every breath you took? I think ytour either very young and naive or just a plain idiot. That baby suffered at the hand of the one who was suppose to love and protect him..

I agree, she should get the help she needs. I’m sure the realization of her act will take her into her own jail for life. We shouldn’t just go locking up the mentally ill so they can be released into society 25 years not properly rehabilitated, this is not the answer.
